Welcome to my blog where I try to post a photo taken somewhere in or around Bellefonte, PA each day or close to it. I also post various meme's here such as (ABC Wed., Skywatch Fri., Photo Meme's, Camera Critters, Weekend Mailbox) that I participate in each week, which are also focused in or around my town.

Bear
This is my brother-in-law and my sisters dog you seen in the photo yesterday. He's an indoor dog but when they sit outside they have to tie him up. As you can see by the leash it isn't strong enough to keep him tied if he really wanted to get lose. Anyway, I posted this photo because somehow it ended up looking more like a painting instead of a photo. Take a look at how the tree behind him looks. Wanted to see if everyone else thought so. I took the photo to Wal-Mart and cropped it just so the bandana and his head is showing. Can't seem to crop in photobucket. It looks wonderful cropped and I sent it in a 5x7 to my brother-n-law. I personally didn't like the leash in the photo. Would this bug anyone else?

He's gorgeous and he looks like he's posing so nicely! The cropped photo must be beautiful. I like his name too. :)
Oh yes, the photo and text are much easier for me to see with the new layout.
Bear looks like a very nice companion and this is a nice portrait. I agree that the photo would be nicer without the leash. If you ever get some software like Photoshop, you can try to "remove" it.
By the way, when you came by Villigen to see the fountain post with the column and blue sky, did you happen to go to the "overflow" site as I call it, to look at a full view of the fountain, water and all?
I looked at the photo again -- maybe it would be easier to set up the camera on a tripod and then unhook the leash for the shortest of time to make a similar shot ...
I like the picture, one of my favorite companion. leash? what leash? I don't see none...
It does look like a painting! That's what I thought when I first saw the picture before reading your post. Nice shot!
I know the leash will bother some people, especially since Bear is tried to a tree instead of being walked by a person.
Sometimes, for its safety and well being, one has to leash the dog to something. We hope Bear was there for a short time only and the weather was pleasant.
This is just lovely! And my very first thought was the same as yours, this looks like a painting!! What a lovely dog :o)
Lovely dog but why is his stomach area so red? Does he have an allergy?
If you know someone proficient in Photoshop, they could "remove" the wire cable and leave you with just the dog. I use Photoshop Elements, but haven't done much along the lines of removing objects.
If you want, I would try. If you're willing, email me a copy of the original file at mastersja@cfl.rr.com, and I'll see what I can do. I'm not sure if I can do it, but I'm willing to try if you are. Also, there are ways to blur the background even more so that the dog stands out in the foreground.
Love the picture though. It looks like he's posing.
Thanks for all the comments. I don't think he has anything wrong with his stomach. I just think if it looks red it is in the photo. I can assure you they take good care of him. Also, the only reason he was there on the leash was because people were there too. Like I said, he's mostly an indoor dog. He gets exercise.
hey thanx for visiting my blog..and what a beaut this one is......i personally dont like the idea of leash but if it serves a purpose, i guess, it better be there..have never owned a dog before so cant really comment!!!
Great canine portrait, love the pose and the background.
The leash is a distraction which could be easily removed in Photoshop. Photoshop is such an awesome product I don't know what I would do without it!
A handsome animal. Dogs are good companions and this one looks like he is well-loved.
He is a nice-looking dog. I like the way it could be cropped also. He is also dark so that is not always easy to bring out the dog's features but you seemed to have been successful at it.
