ABC Wed. - "E" = Empty Nest
My grandson, age 6, took this photo in the summer. All the bird nests are empty now. The birds like to build a nest under our porch every spring. It's been really cold and for the past two weeks snowing heavily. We had about another 2 to 3" of snow last night. We have snow flurries this morning yet. I bet it's been a hard winter for the birds if they didn't fly south.

Your son caught a great shot, Barb! I've just been amazed at the winter that so much of the country is experiencing -- the world actually and we've had the mildest winter on record -- go figure??? Weird weather the past few years! Have a great week!

It's a hard winter here in the UK, too. Looking forward to the return of the birds.
Hope those little birdies flew south and are warm. Your grandson took a great picture.
Great picture! The young photographer has talent! There's been very little snow here after the previous two years each having over 90" which stayed on the ground for many months. Excellent post!
snow flurries here too - roll on spring and new nests.
Indeed, it probably has been a hard winter for wildlife. Seems there are reports from many countries of unseasonably cold weather.
On behalf of the team, thank you for taking part in ABC Wednesday this week! :)
It wont be too long before that empty nest is filled with activity!
You've got a clever grandson! The photo is great! It's strange: this winter has been uncommonly cold and we had so much snow on our northern parts of the world, that we hardly could handle it. Last year however some birds started nesting in February, which proved to be wrong of course.
Congratulation to your grandson, a budding photographer! An empty nest is always a slightly sad sight, isn't it?
Wow! Your Grandson already has a good eye with the camera!
Good one! Makes me think of days to come. ~
Lots of empty nest here too, and some of the smaller birds that stay here for the winter may not have done too good this year. If I was a bird I'd fly south.
I took pictures of nests this summer, but they aren't nearly as vivid as yours. - Ramblin' with Roger
