Train Tracks

I took this photo of my grandson in Bellefonte walking along the railroad tracks. This train ususally don't run much, except sometimes on Sunday to take people on a quick ride, or maybe to have a dinner at another stop and then come right back.

But their is something romantic and exciting about a train ride. I have a grandson who lives for trains. He must have a hundred train toys.

What a great picture,
I was a little tike when young and I was always playing on the train lines behind our house. In the early 1960s when the Steam Trains were about was the best and the safest times. You could feel them coming before you heard or saw them. I would get a copper penny off my mother and put it on the tracks, when about 3 trains had been over it and squashed it flat I would take it home for an ash tray for my mum or dad.
I tell that story now and folf are appalled I was allowed on the tracks, there just were not seen as so danerous as they are now. I love these blog where a posting can take you back in time or whisk you away in thoughts.... thank you for this picture it made me smile and thoughtful... :) :)

Nice picture made even more interesting by the inclusion of your grandson. The picture almost tells a story.

I have a few pictures I took while riding the train (during the Cruise) that I have been meaning to post but never did.

Great work with this site. I love the idea of posting a photo a day.

I think your grandson makes the picture for me.

This is a fantastic photo. The way the tracks are going off at an angle is very interesting. Your grandson is so cute too!

I remember myself doing this very thing. Lots of memories here. Run over pennies. Listening with ear on the rail for the train coming. Nice photo.

This brings back memories of my youth when we often went for walks by the rail road tracks ... Also, I like photos which have depth as this one does.

Reminded me of the book "the railway children" which we studied at school!

I love this photo. As a child I used to do what your grandson is doing in the photo, to go from my village to the next one..... That brings back a lot of memories to my mind....

Very nostalgic picture. But part of me wants to take the boy off the track just in case the train comes around the corner!

Sounds like a pleasant, laid-back sort of timetable for that train.

Susan, not to worry, I was right behind him and this train only runs for fun days, like on Sunday's from the Visitors Center.

I really like the old timey train station in the background.
Great perspective.

Was he counting the planks as he walked along? It looks as if he might be doing that.

Nice one, Barb.

I'm glad you enjoyed my "vase" image ;)

I see that one of your favorite movies is "50 First Dates". I didn't really like that film, but it does have one of my favorite comedic lines in it. It's when Rob Snyder falls through the dock on a boat and the first thing he says is, "Uh, do you have a cat? Cause I feel somethin lickin me!"

Love it ;)

Chad, yeah that was funny.

Annie, No I don't think he was counting, just looking where he was stepping. Never thought of that though.

Everyone, I'm glad this photo brought some good memories back to some of you. I never even thought about that.

Train tracks never fail to make a picture great. There's something in the aesthetic of it.
