Book Mobile
Here's the book mobile. This vehicle goes around and stops different locations so kids or adults who have a hard time getting around can go in and check out books. They are sitting in front of the Historical Society in Bellefonte and the library is just across the street. I assume they are stopping back to refuel books. Anyway, I forgot they do this until I noticed them sitting there and was wondering, do you have something like this is your area?

I remember bookmobiles from my youth. They added excitement to many of my summers.

Je trouve que c'est une bonne idee. On a des bibliothques dans des bus en France, pour les villages perdus où les quartiers en difficultés
I find that it is a good idea. There are libraries in bus in France, for the lost villages where the districts in difficulties
We have like free shuttle in downtown too , but only for few blocks. This provide by our Regional Transit Authority for tourists mostly.
That is a wonderful idea. I'm not sure if they have anything like it in New York. What a great service for people who can't get to the library in person.
Bookmobiles were actually around in the small village where I was born. Your post today reminded me of that. I had forgotten. It was an old school bus converted to shelves and books.
Thanks for stopping and commenting at my blog. I appreciate it a lot.
By the way, I just got word that my wood you read is being advertised in France. Imagine that.
I am surprised. I am also working on a new one with photos. Or this one will be on photography. I am thinking of ways to make it make sense.
Thanks again.

My Website
I don't think there is one in our area, but I've only been here a month and a half so I will have to check that out.
I love these - we had these in Queensland when I was a kid.
We so need them up here in PNG as there are no libraries, book stores or anywhere people can get books and they are so expensive for the average person who earns a pittance.
We also have something similar here in Norwich. I've ever seen it only once though.

The Goddess In You
We had one a few years ago but since our county library has became established I think they discontinued the bookmobile.
I love this! When I was a kid, we lived in a tiny Louisiana town for a time and it had no library. They would send around a book mobile a few times a per week, and I can still remember climbing into it and marvelling at the books.
This was the late 1960s, so it was basically a big bread truck type van that had book shelves in the back. It was pure magic to me at the age of 5.
