I have a friend I used to work with, he's retired now. A mechanical engineer who was a nice guy but also a true curmudgeon.
Our company has an employee art show and one year there was a hand carved and painted carousel horse that everyone flipped over and easily won best of show among some impressive other stuff.
Turns out the horse was done by Vic, Mr. Curmudgeon himself, which blew everyone away. This gorgeous piece of true art done by the crankiest guy we all knew.
I can't see any type of kids horse like this, or a carousel without thinking of Vick's amazing work.
