Three Ladies Statue -Boalsburg
You can read more about the three ladies statue here: http://www.statecollege.com/memorial-day/ Some sites say the three ladies overlook their loved ones who have served in the Civil War. They used to put flowers on the graves. They also state that these three ladies started Memorial Day tradition. Click on the URL for more information on these ladies and their names.

Oh ! A very charming trio of Ladies ! I like : !
Exquisite! and all this with a touch of snow. :)
What a fantastic statue this is. I would have took many of this for sure. The story behind it is charming as well.
I think you remember that the holiday how called, "Memorial Day" was, for generations called, "Decoration Day," a day set aside to decorate graves.
Nice snow covered reminder that we got a ways to go to spring.
Nice statue. It looks pretty nifty with all the snow.
I love statues and I really like these.
Did you forget that it's Theme Day today? Better watch out, or the blogger police will get you. The statues do just as well, tho!
Very poignant! I think this will do for art!
Kind of melancholy.
Hi Barb, here I am for the week recollection of your posts!
This first one looks much more interesting than most grafitti around... ;) Beautiful picture, and the sunny snow scenery helps a lot! Also loved the four Huntingdon Church posts, as well as the Steeple!
Talking churches, I posted on an surprising one: the Rila Monastery!
Have a great weekend!
