My Dog, Tucker

A photo of my dog, Tucker. He had some drama today, he had to go to the doctors to get his shots. The poor dog got in the car and knew where he was going. He was shaking like a leaf. We don't take him in the car much except to the doctors so he associates that to the car. I am going to start taking him on short car rides to get him over the fear. Anyway, a nervous dog had to go to the bathroom before we went in and after we got out of the doctors office. Tucker was fine then on the car ride home knowing it was over. He is good to go for another year. He is overweight and he needs to lose about 8 lbs.

He would soon lose some weight chasing a ball about. Dogs seen to know when a trip to the vets are being planned.

Hi.. let me tell you a little secret: I'm also afraid of needles. The little times I got to go to the doctor and he gives me some stuff to take I always ask for pills. Needles? BBrrr...
By the way, you haven´t been visiting us... we miss you!

What a beautiful face - and those eyes!!!!!

By the way - Tucker in Australia is another word for food!!

"Tucker by name and Tucker by nature".......looks like it in this case!!!!

Thanks Lori.

Quint, I'm not sure which web is yours when I click on your photo. Four of them come up. Are they all yours? Sorry if I've been missing in action. I started posting replys again since my mom got out of the hospital.

Tom, He used to chase a ball, now it's like he says, oh, oh hum with a yawn.

Jules, Yikes! I hope Tucker doesn't turn into someone's food.

Hello. First of all let me tell you how glad I am to hear that your Mom is out of hospital. That's fine. Tell her I wish her well.
As for your question, it goes like this:
portuguesemanofwar.blogspot.com - is my project in English (there are some other more folks writing now);
comimagens.blogspot.com - is a project of Tiago in wich some of the photos are mine. And the translations of the poems he writes.
notasoltasideiastontas.blogspot.com(something like loosequotes, sillyideas) is only mine but I guess you can't read it cause it's all in portuguese. But you are welcome also.
The fourth is only starting and is also in portuguese.
By the way, Friday I'll be posting on portuguesemanofwar a little recipe.

What a cutie! I love critters.

The look on his face is great. Looks like he's asking if you're gonna finish that hamburger.

Well that is a beautiful dog. Such a pretty set of eyes and a smile a mile wide.

You can get him over the ride phobia by taking him to the dairy queen for a small cup of ice cream. That's what we did when we had Autumn Eve. She soon learned the vet was not always what she got in the car for.

That's a great dog - lots of character in his face!

He's got a charming look on him.

You are wise to think of helping him over his fear of the car. Perhaps you can drive him to a dog park where he can play and also lose some of his weight. The park will be much more delightful for him than the vet's office, don't you know.

"He is overweight and he needs to lose about 8 lbs" - don't we all ;-)

Lovely soul shines in those eyes. And I love his whiskers!

My dogs are the same way: they know a ride in the car usually ends up some place they'd rather not go.

Tucker looks adorable and very happy! My dog Flora shakes like a leaf when she goes to the vet, too.

Tucker called and said he wasn't pleased with you at all.

He demands a month worth of car rides and runs in the park, kisses and cookies treats to get over the trauma.

Sincerely,

Tucker's psychiatrist

Ming, That is so funny. Although, Did you miss the part he is 8 lbs overweight? I think if he was in the park he'd lay down and take it easy. LOL.

Under the circumstances, we can skip the cookie treats. :-)

Barb, I'm a little late getting to this photo since I just got back, but I have to comment!

My late Cairn Terrier, Corky the Wonder Dog, used to be afraid of going to the vet. He would be okay in the ar until we got close to the office, and then he would start whining and shaking. The vet told me that was because he always got shots or something when he went there. The vet suggested that we just drive him there once in a while to say, "Hello" so that he would know that not every visit involved the dreaded needles. I did it, and it worked. When I took him in for "visits," the girls pampered him and gave him treats, and we left. After a couple of times, he was fine, believe it or not!

The two I have now don't care at all. They practically yank me off my feet trying to get into the car, into the vet's office. . . .LOL BTW. . .Tucker is cute, and I love his name!

Chris
