Here's a close up. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but I believe this bird is called an American Goldfinch.
This is the same bird on the ground eating a sunflower seed.

a male. The females arrive sooner but are pale olive green like a common sparrow.
Such a pretty bird! Love how she's all puffed out in the 2nd one.

My very favorite feeder bird, especially when they come in a large group and your backyard is just bright with yellow. I used to feed a lot of birds but the bigger starlings moved in and ate me out of house and home. Thanks for sharing your little feathered friend. Have a wonderful Monday.
So diffrent from our Gold Finches.. but just as pleasing on the eye.. I had to drop down to your Shadow post again.. I really do like those.
