Mrs. Salty, We got our grandson his own camera this past Christmas. I've been showing him things to do with it a little bit at a time. He catches on quick and then I show him more things to do with it.

We just started bird watching and I've been taking a lot of bird pictures (even started another blog to showcase the birds in Chicago) I get a lot of these pictures too. I always say that it is important to get pictures of the bird from ALL angles in order to identify it. I agree with all the other posters that your grandson has taken a very cool picture. It has an interesting composition. And I like the texture of the wood, next, and feathers.
That is a nice snap for 6 years old. Great going.
