Welcome to my blog where I try to post a photo taken somewhere in or around Bellefonte, PA each day or close to it.
I also post various meme's here such as (ABC Wed., Skywatch Fri., Photo Meme's, Camera Critters, Weekend Mailbox) that I participate in each week, which are also focused in or around my town.
I think it would be so much fun to restore one of these old petrol(gas) stations and bring it back to its former glory.. another example of society out of control... I hate that all these little places are disappearing because of big companies.
Thank You for your blog. It was such a delight to see so many places I'm familiar with. This gas station for example is on PA 26 near the East bound on-ramp to interstate 80 Bellefonte. IIt's been closed for a few years now awaiting the construction of the I-99 to I-80 ramps. I used to buy gas there often when commuting between Howard, PA and Spruce Creek. I grew up in northern Huntingdon county (Spruce Creek), and worked in both Huntingdon and Bellefonte for many years. I recognize so many of the places in your photos. I'm sort of trapped in Florida now, and very homesick for the mountains and rural areas back home. Thanks very much for a little taste of home.

JoAnn, For some reason I can't leave a comment on your blog. I've tried at least 4 xs.
Yes, it does look closed and abandoned!
A sad C.....
That is a sad C, but the idea was brilliant!
Excellent C ..
That's a good one! I'm really getting such a strong image of the area in which you live, from your pictures. Kind of rural, very Pennsylvania.
AAh another one bit the dust, very creative
That was spectacular.
Congratulation
Makes one wonder what happened. There are so many new stations being built.
Great C sad but true!
How sad...very closed and perhaps abandoned. Good choice.
Little bit sad but great C;)
That's a very well observed photo. It's uintriguing why the cars were there...
We have a few closed around here, too, and some of them are much newer than that one and have modern equipment. Timing and location, I think.
There that it reached the price of fuels, sure they will close also in Europe many!
Nice ABC...
Well done!!
Great capture for C and with the world oil prices the way they are I'm amazed we don't see more of this. Happy wednesday

Boarded up, yep, I would say closed plus it is written on the board. ;)

Must be a fuel shortage
