Cat & Mouse or you tell me
This plant sits along side my sisters house. She said it is called a cat & mouse plant, but I'm not sure if she was just joking or not. I don't remember seeing them but maybe have in the stores and never payed much atttention to them. At least I've never seen them in a barrel the way she has them. Does anyone know the name of this plant or is it really called a cat & mouse plant?

I thought they were called "chicks and hens." But I don't know the real name. I've always liked this kind of plant!
We call them "hen and chicks" here too. Great photo!
We always called them "Hens and Chickens" here in Ohio where I live. They are often seen stuck in or growing in barrels with holes on the sides.
This is a nice shot.
I have 1 baby raccoon today and a pile of poop!

"Cat and mouse" and "chicks and hens" are both really nice! In France, this plant is called "joubarbes", less nice indeed...I like them, with all the shapes they can have and because they always forgive me even if I forget to water them!
I couldn't tell you, but it's an interesting looking specimen. I like how it's growing in and out of the barrel.
Hi, Barb. From what I see in the photo, it looks like prickly pear or maybe artichoke. When you find out what it is, leave a note on your blog.

hen & chicks
We call them "hen & chicks" (strangely, not chicken), like Lori mentioned.
They looks totally healthy and triving. I tend to overwater mine and they don't get enough sun so they become thin and tall -- very ugly.
Sorry, no help from this side; plants are not my particular field...
But the the shot is great!
I think its Hens and Chickens too. my folks always had these growing some place in their garden.
We have no idea how it's called, but it looks so nice.
We have very nice plants on uor balcony, but something has being eaten a leaves. We have no idea what is it. So all plants and flowers are dying slowly. It makes us really sad, because we've waited so long for it.
Anyway all flowers smells so wonderfull now.
Nice photo. ;)))
I've always heard them called "Hens and Chickens."
Yep, hen and chicks.
I always knew these as hens and chicks. Good shot.

Hen and chicks ( Echeveria elegans ). Similar to all plants that can be similarly divided and replanted "mom and daughters" ( Irises,Tulips,Amaryllis, etc ).
