Here's the auction barn at the Belleville market. An Amish guy is leaning on the barn door, but inside they're alot more people strolling through to look at the livestock. And, inside on the top of this barn is a restaurant. You go through a different entrance.
Here on this photo a few guys at the other end of the barn just relaxing and chating. Socializing is the thing to do here.
And finally here's what you see in the barn, this cow peeking out.
Welcome to my blog where I try to post a photo taken somewhere in or around Bellefonte, PA each day or close to it. I also post various meme's here such as (ABC Wed., Skywatch Fri., Photo Meme's, Camera Critters, Weekend Mailbox) that I participate in each week, which are also focused in or around my town.

I like your photographs. A nice community of people who live a simple life compared to our lives.

Like the photo. That's a cow on the top?
How did the cow get up on the roof? And how did she get back down?
This really reminds me of my youth. Cattle and sell barns.
A lifestyle so different. It's fascinating to read and observe.
Although it would be nice to see the Amish folk up a bit closer.
Just a tad ?
So now the real question is: Does that cow on the roof think that is a good place to hide....?
Are the Amish there only to sell or do the also buy?
very funny with the cow on the top:)
I'm not sure how they got that fake cow on the roof. Maybe they hoisted it up with something.
Isabella, The Amish buy and sell. There are other people there too, other than Amish who rent space to sell things.

Oh, my! Is it really a cow auction?!
Hi Nice pics, especially of the amish community. the plant at your sisters house is called a sempervivium, or house leek. Cheers.
Irina, Yes it is a cow auction. They also sell chickens.
Davem, Thanks for the info on the plant.
There are amish a couple hours from my hometown. My family would go to their farmers market when I was a kid on the odd weekend. They make excellent crafts, food and worked wood products.
I like the series - it looks like a great place to live :)
Do they do the rapid-fire bidding talk there? I was never able to understand that.
Love the cow shot.
Jam, I think they do do the rapid-fire bidding.
