I narrowed it down to three but my number one pick is this one...
#1 Pick is A Horse Hug. I think this shows alot of love and caring between both people and animal.
My number two and three pick was a toss up between these two.
The elephant eye is a favorite because I think the closeup shows emotion and feeling. Not sure how to explain it or maybe I'm reading into it more than I should.
And, this one was another favorite because it's hard to capture a bird catching a fish like this at mealtime but I got lucky in this photo.

I don't often disagree with Babooshka, but I have to go with the horse hug.
I like the elephant eye too, but it's not as...as... as interactive as the horse hug.

All three are wonderful choices but I have to agree with you. Horse Hug is just so warm and tender.

Yes, there is something almost haunting about the elephant's eye. The texture of his skin also comes through well. Hope that 2009 will be a good year for you, filled with good health, happiness, and great joy!
