I must say that this is a most unusual look at the sky and I can imagine, especially during World War II, when submariners were undergoing being depth-charged, that those sailors sweated it out and wondered if they would ever get to see the blue sky again. And many are still at the bottom of the sea in submarine hulks nobody would recognize. It is an amazing photo by itself but with memories it is something special.
