ABC Wed. -"K" = "Keep" Our Troops Safe / Theme Day-Lines

Today October 1st is ABC Wednesday with the letter "K" and Theme Day, which is "Lines" for our Photo A Day Blog. I thought these photos were perfect for both of these.

"K" is for "Keep" our troops safe. "Keep" the faith, and "Kiss" them goodbye.

Keeping the pace...

Pennsylvania Army National Guard in Bellefonte to March to War

This was a moving ceremony on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. The Pennsylvania Army National Guard marched from Bellefonte from the Armory on Bishop Street to Allegheny Street down High Street and ending at Talleyrand Park. The march recognized the soldiers prior to their deployment to Iraq. A wonderful turnout in support of the troops.

I'll post more pictures of this event later.

Other members of the military who has served riding in "line" with the parade.

Amen! My brother's unit from Cape Cod is to ship out in fall of 2009 - whoever will be president by then, I hope things will change.

Oh dear, I absolutely hate this post! Not because of your photo or because of the ceremony (which I think is wonderful). I just really, really do not like fighting, war, or the idea of anyone getting hurt or killed, and even the thought of people not being able to get along or at least, trying to understand each other, and now I better stop before I start crying…

War, a terrible word in any language or country.

Yes, it is heart wrenching to see soldiers marching together like that, but it is good for us to stop and think about the sacrifices that are daily being made by those same soldiers on our behalf.

My eyes filled with tears when I saw those photos. I'm glad that those men are recognized today through your post.

Very nice tribute to our troops marching off to war; I am thankful for the men and women who are fighting to keep us safe; they and their families have made many sacrifices and need our support.
