Those are barber shops here. If they do the "works" then they are salons. Just haircuts people say, "Barber shop." Hair cut, shave, fingernails cleaned, shampoo, things like that add up to being a salon here. We don't have any.
My wife, Patty, and I have been married for 52 years today. Imagine that.
52 married years
If you click on the photo bigger you can see hair salon under the "For Men Only" that's painted on. We have a barber shop in Bellefonte. At least I think it's still there.
nice one
The only thing attracted to me alot is the CAR...Very nice one!
interesting ;o]
That is funny! It is a cute car too.
Very funny , Beetle! but nice photo...I love the "bugs" too.!!

Unique capture! Interesting business plan they must have to eliminate well over half of the available customer base :)
Let's hope they do hair in other styles besides those that look like a Beetle (you know, like the original Beatles hair-cuts).
I've been puzzling out lvtoscpbk. Is it love to speak or live to speak or am I missing something here?

Love the way advertising has moved to other venues than the old standards.
A definite attention grabber for men. Very unusual way to talk about the business.
Well, I don't need to go to that place. I just cut it myself every three days ;)
Thanks for contributing to my "Cell Phone" discussion.
Stylish!
Annie, My name is "Love to scrapbook". I do scrapbooking and have for about 7 yrs now. I couldn't figure out a name for my personal blog and that was it. If you go to my personal blog, click under the clock here, you will see some of my scrapbook pages on the scroll.
I must be slow on the uptake. Or maybe it's just that I'm not a scrapbooker. Yes, that's likely the reason I didn't figure this out.
Thanks for the clarification Barb.

c'est rare les coiffeurs seulement pour hommes (du moins en France). J'aime bien cette voiture
it is rare the hairdressers only for men (at least in France). I like this car
HAHAHA! Too funny! But you would have thought they would use a muscle car or sport car for advertising instead of a VW Beetle. :-)
We have barber shops here but I have never seen one advertised for men only.
I'm sure most women would rather go to one of the styling salons anyway.
Ta for explaining your blog-ID - I hadn't even a clue that it was "textspeech" - makes sense when you know. Over here prices in barber's shops are about a quarter of what ladies hairdressers charge - many of the latter will do men's hair and you'll sometimes see signs declaring their salons as "Unisex" but they usually overcharge men compared to traditional barbers.
But why a Volkswagon. Why not a pickup truck. or a Ferrari, or even an SUV. With so much thought into this, they must have a reason for VW.
Steve, I have no clue why a VW. Sometimes business owners buy the car first and the advertising is the after thought. Not sure if it was in this case or not. There's some interesting advertising what people will put on their vehicles sometimes.
Mr. Lincoln is right. Men only is usually a "Barber Shop" but things are different now. Men carry "man purses" and use skin care products like women, so why not a men only hair salon?
I'll keep going to my Barber Shop though. I need to breathe in the testosterone from time to time, otherwise being way outnumbered by women in my home.
I think Volkswagen are young people's cars..... Trendy? Classier than a pickup?
I owned several "For Men Only" hair salons in NY in the 70s one in New Rochell 2 in NY NY and one in Miami they were all built in the round and were clubs $100.00 to join and $25. 00 for a hair cut plus an open bar a lounge with the games on in the hair cutting area were TVs with VHF players all the "barbers" were beautiful young girls in "hot pants" we served sandwhiches and drinks for as long as you wanted to stay at no extra charge so it was a real bargin at $25.00 we also had a VIP section with needle showers and a massage table and a little larger area that was $1000.00 to join and $50.00 per haircut ,shower, massage etc. also the girls there were the cream of the crop all the girls made a couple of hundred a day in tips
