I was riding around Bellefonte for the purpose to find older houses with alot of detail. There are some pretty fasinating houses.
Welcome to my blog where I try to post a photo taken somewhere in or around Bellefonte, PA each day or close to it. I also post various meme's here such as (ABC Wed., Skywatch Fri., Photo Meme's, Camera Critters, Weekend Mailbox) that I participate in each week, which are also focused in or around my town.

On a corner in Bellefonte sits Reynolds Mansion Bed & Breakfast. It was built in 1885. If you want to see some of the rooms go here: http://www.findbnb.com/2208 and here: http://www.selectregistry.com/inns/qv/iid/306/inn/bedandbreakfast.aspx or for the history of this building, go here: http://www.reynoldsmansion.com/history.html
I took this duck photo at Talleyrand Park in Bellefonte.
Here's a view of the Rockview prison. This prison is one that has executions. When there is one, you'll see a bunch of people standing outside the front with candles until the prisoner is pronounced dead. I don't think they carry out the death penalty very often. To see a front view of the prison and to learn more, go here: http://www.cor.state.pa.us/rockview/site/default.asp

This is the front view of this church. I think this is a pretty church with it's stain glass windows and red doors. There is alot of details in this church.
And, the side view.

I believe the People's Choice got started in Boalsburg (15 minutes from Bellefonte) because State College Arts Fest just got too expensive for the local people. I go to the State College Arts Fest maybe once every 3 or 4 years. The arts there is just out of my price range. This one is more affordable.

The water slides is at Delgrossos Amusement Park. You can see the top of the slide and the whole view. The water park is beside the parking lot across the road from the rides. There is a walking bridge that goes over the top of the road to go to the other side. Alot of people have family reunions and picnics here with their jobs. There is also a really nice mini-golf course and a go cart track where the water park is. I love to mini-golf, but haven't gotten to go any this year yet. This park is great for kids because they can get a bracelet and ride all day. It's really cheap. (Delgross's is about a 45 minute drive from Bellefonte).
The Starlite Theater is located on Benner Pike only about 10 minutes from Bellefonte. You can see the big screen in the background of the entrance. They were going to close it down but must have decided to keep it open awhile longer. I've gone several times to this one but not this year yet. Right now "Ratatouille" is playing and another movie which I forget. They used to have those big bulky speakers you put on the inside of your car window. Now, if you go, you tune your radio station in to whatever channel they tell you to hear the sound. I remember sometimes going with my kids and taking a lawn chair, blankets and a snack and we'd sit outside beside the car. Do you have memories of the drive-in theater? Do you have any in your town?

Here's a view looking through the fence above the tunnel. I'll show you the path tomorrow.
