Mellow Yellow Monday - Bumble Bee with Ant
A bumble bee that my grandson photographed. This bee was already dead on our porch. Just wanted you to know that we didn't step on him or anything. I'm not sure if he died because it may have been colder that night. If you enlarge you can see the ant on him.

Did the ant try to carry the dead bee away? It looks like it would be a monumental task.
I would guess it got into some chemicals somebody sprayed and that killed it. It is a shame this has to happen.
The ants may even be killed by the poison on or in the bee. It never ends.

We had a cold snap after a string of warm days. I think that killed off a few insects here, as well..
