Here's a photo of the Weis Market in Bellefonte. I noticed the hiring sign up so am figuring maybe they are starting to hire for the new store they are putting in about two miles down the road. This one will close and a new bigger one will be opening soon. They are still working on the new store and now have the signal lights up but not turned on and the new one will have a gas station.

Flowers: A Sign of Summer

Hi Everyone, How's your weather? It's seems like it's either extremely hot here or raining. I'm finally trying to get back to my blog. So to get me started, here's a photo of some flowers in my backyard. I'm in the mood right now to plant more shrubs and flowers. Hope you enjoy them.

And...If you're wondering about the Stubby post below, he has still not been found. There is also another dog named Gypsy who is also missing. Both phone numbers can be found on the site from the Stubby post. If you see either dog, please call the owners with those numbers. Thanks.

Stubby Lost - Bellefonte

I haven't posted in awhile, just been busy and family keeps having health issues.

Anyway, I thought I'd post about Stubby for those of you who live in the area and may visit my blog. Gary and his family adopted Stubby and everyone has been searching for him, but unfortunetly not been able to catch him. Stubby is a husky and doesn't go to men, so if you have a lady with you, he'd go to her first. He also doesn't like anyone towering over him, so please crouch down if you are trying to get him. You have to wait patiently for him to come to you. Food and having other dogs with you may help. Here's a photo of Stubby. His name also reflects his stub tail.

If you spot Stubby please call Gary at 814-355-4934 anytime of the day or night. Stubby has been missing for about two weeks and the family is anxious to have him home. You can also contact Centre County Paws if you can't get ahold of Gary or leave a message here of when and where you seen Stubby, so we can look for him. Everyone is worried about him and would love to see him home safely.

I'm hoping I can get back into my blogging again and get some new photos to show you around Bellefonte and some areas close to that.

I hope the New Year brings everyone good health. I know I'm tired of health issues! I'm not really making a New Year's resolution, instead I pick a "word" to focus on every year. This year my word is "perseverance". I think that about covers it all with health, fitness, decluttering, getting orangized, and to simplify all the stuff in my life. Hi everyone, Just been having some health issues lately and thought I'd let everyone know that I'm not quitting my blog. Just need a little more time. I will try to restart back up with my posting in the New Year. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas. In the meantime meet our newest member of the family. His name is Rufus.

There are wonderful dogs at shelters just waiting to be adopted. And, alot of times there are purebreds for those who have to have one kind. Here's one of the huskies living at the shelter.

Quote from website: "Max is a 1 year old husky who was rescued from a bad situation. He loves other dogs and is good with children." There are three other huskies that are with Max's family at the shelter that would love to be adopted.

This is inside the new restaurant in State College, about a 20 min. drive from Bellefonte. I loved these chairs, the food is excellent, and the homemade chips are to die for. If you've never been in one before there maybe one in your area if you look on this website at Kildare's Irish Pub.

Since I didn't have any pictures to post today, this week for ABC Wed. I'm going to recommend an animal book called, "Dear Mrs. LaRue: Letters From Obedience School" by Mark Teague. Somehow I missed last weeks letter "G". But, moving on to the letter "H". My word for ABC Wed. and the letter "H" is "Homesick" This dog finds out just want it means to want to go "home". LOL. This is so cute and funny.

If you have children or grandchildren this is a wonderful children's story about a dog who gets sent to obedience school and keeps writing home to his master about everything that is going wrong. He whines about the food, the service, just about everything and wants to go home. This is such a wonderful book and the best children's book I've read in along time. I love the illustrations, along with the story line and it's funny. A great book! Check it out at your local library or you can find it at bookstores. And, no I don't have anything invested in this book, nor do I know the author. I just think this is a wonderful must have book.

Dogs Unchained

I posted this on my other blog and thought I'd post this here too for Camera Critters this week.

This woman is fighting to make it a law against chaining dogs up. She is chained at Harrisburg Capitol to Win Law for Abused Dogs. How would you like to be chained to a dog box all your life in all kinds of weather? Watch this video.

Last year I heard about a dog in our area who ended up with their paws frozen to the pavement and then died because someone left the poor dog out in the freezing cold. Let's help this lady get this law passed to Unchain the Dogs and give them all a better life.

Here's a quote that was sent to me in my email..."Dogs Need Change. Not Chains." is one of the taglines that drives Tamira Thayne's "Operation Fido Freedom." Thayne has made headlines by chaining herself to the PA State Capitol Building from 8:00 - 6:00 every day until SB 1435, a limiting chaining law, is passed in PA."

Even if you can't adopt a dog, please help pass this law by writing to your state Senator and urge others to contact their state Senator too and get this law passed to not chain dogs. Here's a website on Unchaining Dogs to find out more. Find out what you can do to help pass this law.

Okay I know this is really pushing SkyWatch Friday with this photo. But, that being said it is the sun shinning down on this creek and I do have somewhat of an excuse for pushing the envelope (so to speak).

I just had gallbladder surgery on Wed. and got out of the hospital yesterday so since I'm sore today and can't get around much I haven't had time to go out and take a better photo of the sky.

I took this photo a few weeks ago at my son's place where they have a creek across the road. I thought it could be somewhat of a sky photo with the sun's rays shinning through.

Camera Critters - Furry Friends Water Station

I took this photo at the Arts & Crafts Festival in Boalsburg last week. They put out a tub of water for the dogs. I'm glad someone thought of this. Although, the dogs really needed in a cool place at home. It was so hot that day with the humidity extremely high that you sweated just sitting. So, when your out and about make sure your pet drinks everytime you get a drink. Make it a rule and you won't forget. Pets should be offered drinks more often since he/she will be alot hotter than you with the fur coat they have on.

Running neck and neck and tail to tail.

Okay I went online to find a "Z" word and came up with this one, Zestful for ABC Wed., which it says it means marked by spirited enjoyment. These two look like they are enjoying themselves and I get great enjoyment from this photo. It seems so peaceful here.

This photo was taken at Penns Cave while I was on the boat. We got to pass several birds and animals. Penns Cave is about a 20 min. drive from Bellefonte.

My sister and I visited Penn's Cave a few days ago, and I noticed these two elks. They have a wildlife safari where you ride through by bus. We didn't do that tour yet, but I got a good shot of these two on the way out of the area. Penn's Cave is about a 25 min. drive from Bellefonte. The two elk look like a mirror image but there are really two there.

Camera Critters and Pet Pride - Two Dogs Needing a Home

My sister and I was out and about the other day and stopped at the PSPCA to take a look around. The lady there told me that these two dogs need a good home and need to be adopted together. The one is just heart sick without the other. Chaz is a black and white terrier mix and is 10 yrs old. And, Brutus is a brown and white pug/chihuahua mix and is also 10 yrs. old. Both are males.

As you know it's so hard to adopt out dogs that are older and that come in a pair. So if you know of anyone who would love these two cuties please send them to

Today I'm posting for Sky Watch Friday, Weekend Reflections and Shadow Shot all in one. You can see the beautiful blue sky's we had yesterday and theres a little bit of a shadow peeking through near the sign on the second photo.

I've been wanting to take a picture of this Iron Horse for awhile now and never seemed to make the time to get a photo. Well, yesterday my sister and I went to get photos. This is just spectacular!

Camera Critters, Pet Pride, Weekend Reflections-Happy Easter! - A Easter Bone Hunt

On Friday evening the pet store had a dog Easter bone hunt. Alot of dogs came out for this event. They had to use their noses to sniff out their treats. I didn't take my dog because he doesn't play well with others. At least not at first. If he's around them for awhile then he'll play but he likes to bark alot. Although, he's as sweet as pie at the doctors office. Who'd figure? Maybe he'll get to go next time if he minds his manners. I was out and about and always have my camera with me so this was an opportunity to get some photos.

I found a new meme called Thousand Word Thursday as in... A picture is worth a thousand words.

This poor little bunny along with three others are scrunched in one cage with not much room. I feel sad for these animals having to be trapped in a little cage, having to go to the bathroom in a confined area and being scared. I hope they get adopted soon so they will have more room to roam.

Blog Hop all about pets. This is my sister's two horses named Spot and Merlin. They were running in her yard. I used a program that I got not long ago to change it to the beach. We had gone to Myrtle Beach so I put the horses on the beach and added a butterfly. This photo is made by using three different photos. I love this new picture program I got. It's called Play with Pictures and is so much fun. You can add people or pets, delete others out, add text, it's so easy and a great way to do a family portrait if you can't ever get them in one location. I did a photo like that too. I can post it if anyone is interested in seeing it.
